SSI I-Purlin is a structural "I" shaped member ideal for panelized roof systems.

SSI I-Purlins are manufactured with machine stress-rated lumber (MSR) or LVL lumber flanges and with structural grade oriented strand board webs.

Flange sizes range from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches in depth, 3 1/2 inches in width. SSI I-Purlin depths range from 14 inches to 30 inches.

The flanges have a moisture content not exceeding 15%. The moisture content of the web does not exceed 12%.

  • Continuous glued web to flange joints
  • Continuous glued web to web joints
  • Tension tested flanges (MSR) when finger joints are utilized
  • Lighter than solid dimensional lumber or other Engineered Wood Beams
  • Uses Conventional hangers
  • Dimensionally stable
  • Provides a cost effective roof system
  • Includes factory installed split resistance top flange reinforcing (R chord) allowing for tight diaphragm nailing (see R Chord Specifications)
