Glulam purlins are engineered wood components made up of wood laminations, or "lams" that are facebonded (glued) together with waterproof adhesives. The grain of all laminations run parallel with the length of the member.

Individual lams typically are less than 2" inches thick. Glulam purlins come in net widths of 2 1/2", 3 1/8", 5 1/8", 6 3/4".

Performance Features

  • Exposed to view appearance grades available
  • Camber can be manufactured into the beam for long term deflection considerations
  • Versatile in all light commercial and industrial applications
  • Glulam purlins can be fabricated to achieve a one hour fire resistant rating in an exposed to view condition
  • Glulam purlins offer superior seismic connectivity
